Volcanic activity at Nevado del Ruiz began about two million years ago. The summit of Nevado del Ruiz is covered by large glaciers. and it has a lot of movement; The volcano continues to pose a threat to the nearby towns and villages, and it is estimated that up to 500,000 people could be at risk from lahars from future eruptions.
The profiles of the coffee from this region give an extraordinary sensation of flavor and aromas with some Jazmin and cocoa, caramel, and touches of honey and vanilla, the fertile soil where this coffee is planted are due by the nearness to the volcanic hills resulting in a medium acidity and intensity combined with creamy and caramel notes.
